How we did the maths
 

Children do it instinctively - they want to touch and be touched, to hold and be held. But for some reason as we grow up, we stop hugging.

So if there's one bit of advice we'd give everyone on this site, it would be this. Touch someone you love. Hold them. Stroke them. Kiss them. It's one piece of magic we can all do every day.

    I give millions of hugs. Everyday when I meet my friends I give them a huge hug. So I probably give about 50 hugs on average a day- some people get more than one. And I also had a huge hug thing on National Hug Day which is on 21st Jan. I tried to hug as many people as possible and I'm planning to beat however many I got last time.     Walking through town, i spotted a 'special' looking man walking past a row of shops with a large, very colourful sign reading 'FREE HUGS'...
    but, much to my surprise, no one seemed too willing to take up this generous offer, so, throwing caution to the wind, i hugged the guy.
    His smile said it all.

    Hugs really do make you feel happier. :) At some middle schools, they discourage hugging...? O_o I think that's really sad. I mean, I guess I can see that SOME people cause problems, but a majority of the kids just want to hug their friends.     Today, i saw a friend that i had'nt seen in ages, and the first thing i did was hug her, then i told her i missed her. Hugging her made her really happy, as it proved to her how much i missed her and how special she was.
