stickerMarvelous stickers, badges, and other little bits

Whether you are a punk, brownie guide, 10 metre swimming champion or a political activist, the humble badge can be crucially important. It may be small but it can be pretty powerful. Back in 1860, Abraham Lincoln used tin badges for election campaigning. And there were one or two made for Obama's campaign too. Stickers, too, can be just as useful.

Show what you are standing up for and create some marvelous stickers and badges.

Here's our five tips:

1. Make your own. You can buy a kit to make badges here. You can make your own stickers here.

2. Make some of ours. You can download We Are What We Do badges on the right.

3. Think simple. When you're making your own remember that what works on a big poster won't on a tiny badge or sticker. Cut down your words to a neat slogan and your image to an icon.

4. Make someone smile. A good badge should be funny or intriguing.

5. Work out how many you need. If you're making them for an event, do the maths first. Remember Action # 86, Avoid Waste, and don't print too many.
